Latinos in Finance Training

PODER’s Latinos in Finance (LIF) training prepares individuals for bank teller and other entry-level careers in the financial services sector. The LIF program is an eight-week training program open to students 18 years of age and older with a GED or high school diploma and authorization to work in the USA. In this training, students learn bank compliance regulations, money handling basics, and other essential financial services sector skills. PODER will assist students in job placement, resume building and networking. Through PODER’s employer partnerships, students also receive guaranteed interviews.

Pre-Requisite: It is required to complete and pass PODER’s Customer Service training program. 
Training Length: 8 weeks on Mondays and Wednesdays
Location: Pulaski Site and currently virtually
Training Times: 9:15am -3:15pm
Language: Training in English; Candidate must be Bilingual in Spanish

Acceptance to the program also comes with the following commitments on:

  • 100% attendance to all trainings
  • Participation in the Hiring Event
  • Acceptance of a job offer from one of our bank partners

LIF Grads Return

PODER hosts a LIF Grad Panel with every class. Each graduate shares his/her story with the current aspiring trainees. They also provide tips and best practices for the trainees’ upcoming interviews. 

Networking at these panels becomes an added benefit for each participant.
