PODER’s Career Exploration (CE) training serves as a prerequisite to participation in our two main job training options, Bilingual Insurance Licensing (BIL) and Latinos in Finance (LIF). In CE, students participate in a four-week course that develops general skills needed to enter the workforce such as resume and interview preparation as well as providing career options via guest speaker presentations.

The course also provides students with an opportunity to build their professional vocabulary and reflect on their own background, skills, and work values. Home study and class time are utilized to maximize review of concepts and to provide more hands-on and discussion activities. This training is open for learners 18 years of age and older.
